We studied clinical manifestations of 131 benign and 39 malignant parotid epithelial tumors; among 39 malignant tumors, 29 cases were histopatholigically high grade malignant cases and 10 cases were low grade malignant cases. Fixation, local pain, rapid growth of the tumor, cervical lymph node swelling, and facial palsy were more predominant in malignant tumors group (71%, 31%, 46%, 26%, 30%) than in benign tumors group (7%, 2%, 13%, 4%, 0%). High grade malignant group showed fixation, rapid growth of the tumor, and facial palsy more frequently (86%, 55%, 40%) than low grade malignancies (30%, 20%, 0%). The prognosis was poor in the malignant cases with fixation of the tumor and/or facial palsy.
