The mass introduction of smart meters provides granular electricity consumption data that enables the possibility to give better feedback of energy usage and advices for energy efficiency. In addition, communication devices and channels are being diversified, e.g., web portals accessed by personal computers and mobile devices, stand-alone in-home displays, mails, emails, text messages and push notifications to mobiles, etc. In this paper, I discuss what kind of information could be more effective and preferred in the residential sector.
