Water management at the farm level depends upon the maintenance of the equilibrium between water demand and supply. This paper deals with the management of supply of water and water depth at the farm level on a daily basis during the cropping season, in comparing results of studies carried out in Japan and Indonesia. Also, this report attempts to clarify the concept of evaluation of effective precipitation and stresses the importance of “glot-management water” in the cropping stages.
