Fracture behavior of polycrystalline aluminum specimen coated with liquid Ga was investigated by means of tensile test and observations of structure. The fracture stress (σ
f) and fracture strain (ε
f) of specimen coated with liquid Ga increase with increasing strain rate (ε). The Ga penetration into the specimen is recognized before the flow stress reaches to the fracture stress. The fracture stress (σ
f) of specimen coated with liquid Ga is illustrated in the following equation;
σ
f=log(Bε
A)-kt
1/2where A, B and
k are constants, ε is an initial strain rate,
t is the holding time after coating with liquid Ga.
