Lithium aluminate (LiAlO2) was produced by the following way. The metallic aluminum was dissolved in nitric acid solution using direct current power supply unit. Lithium carbonate was added in the above solution and then stirred with ammonia to be gel. The gel was calcined at 773–1473 K for 3.6 ks. X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the powders which obtained by calcining at temperatures of more than 1273 K were identified as γ-LiAlO2.The preparation of LiAlO2 above was considered from electrochemical points.
A solution flow-type micro droplet cell with co-axial dual capillary tubes (Sf-MDC) was applied to form porous-type alumina film at selected areas on aluminum. Using Sf-MDC for anodizing of aluminum, the oxide film with controlled shape and thickness could be formed. Successive process of anodizing with Sf-MDC and through-hole treatment was performed to form membrane filter. It was clearly observed by SEM that through-hole-type porous alumina was formed. Water permeation test showed that the water permeated through the anodized sample.
