Natural seasonings for institutional use are composed of multi-item products since orders from customers require different specifications. Therefore at the production stage, frequent process changes are required. Thus the performance of scheduling of the processes gives important infulences to the productivity of the plant. Scheduling of the plant must be considered various limitations such as products to produce, process specifications and amount of production, etc.. Since the scheduling depends on the know-how of expert schedulers, it was judged that introduction of scheduling expert systems (ES) to this plant will result in higher productivity.

The investigations of ES show that the rate of realization of workable system is 30 - 50 %. It is our view that the success of ES comes from the better communication between users, systems engineers and software venders than that of constructing usual information systems. By this development of the ES, it was successfully resulted in to realize practical scheduling ES using workstation. The time to schedule reduced to 1/5, and production amount increased 3 - 4% by this ES.

The efficient establishments for distributed information systems are essencial subject to be solved in order to really construct CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) or SIS (Strategic Information Systems). The auther succeeded to construct and operate distributed information systems by utilizing [A-BOIS] which we newly developed and standardized. This paper describes the methodologies and merits through introducing [A-BOIS].

The standardization of distributed information systems which are to be integrated in near future saves man-hour, total cost of software, time for development and makes systems maintenance easier. To survive the era of highly sophisticated information society, the standardization will be required for the every aspects of information systems. The contents described here, supply the concepts and methodologies to solve above problems.

When we synthesize multiple subsystem models which are recognized from various aspects into a global system model, can we construct a globally consistent global system model, or does the reconstructed model coincident with the intended global model? There is a possibility that the reconstructed global model is different from the original one. This problem is called reconstruction probrem. We can discuss this problem by using more concrete models such as differential equation models. However in this paper the author tried to discuss it as general as possible not depending on special structure of the mathematical tools used. That is, the discussion is done through purely set-theoretical level. We give several results on the structure of the reconstruction family and necessary and sufficient conditions for the nonemptiness of it.

Most of information systems methodologies has been used data flow diagrams in analysis and design stages.

In this paper what kind of models can be constructed through data flow diagrams is investigated. A natural correspondence between a primitive static structure of business transaction system and a data flow diagram is established and used in examination of modelling ability of data flow diagram. It is turned out that mutual relations, which make parallel processing of business transaction possible, between data and processes are extracted from business system into a data flow diagram. Also implied are need for data design and possible extension of data flow diagrams.

The consideration shows possibility and limit of data flow diagrams in modelling business systems.

Constructing a generator for decision support systems(DSSs), we have been studying on DSSs which support a user like a consultant. While we have been also developing a design methodology for DSSs called GSS approach in which we adopt a goal seeking system as its system model. Based on both research, we design and implement a DSSs for constructing a pay system according to function in this paper. It is possible to support a user to construct a Pay system according to function after simply modifying parameters and input data in the system.

In this paper, we firstly state on a usual design procedure for constructing a pay system according to function. Secondly, we review GSS approach and explain how we design the system according to the approach in constructing a pay system according to function. Finally, we illustrate the system implemented and the usage of it in decision making.
