With the quick advance of information technology, new marketing research technique, so called database marketing, is getting high attention from all over the world recently. Especially, it seems to be the one of the most important key factors for us to make the marketing strategy such as cross-selling or up-selling to success that how to segment whole customers of our company effectively and find out good customers.
In this paper, I propose how to build customer segmentation model with joint segmentation model. Simultaneously, I will propose the improvement of the original joint segmentation model with use of individual attributes.
From the empirical study based on the actual data of policyholders kept in the Life Insurance Company, I will try to confirm the significance and usefulness of the proposed model.
The objective of this study is 1) to focus on potential disparities in interdepartmental awareness, which may lead to problems in information processes, and 2) to suggest a basic approach to activities designed to make improvements in the workplace.
Specifically, there are two areas of awareness in which disparities may develop: objective awareness [ 1) activity objectives and 2) process objectives] and fact awareness [ 1) facts pertaining to information processes and 2) facts pertaining to external environments]. The data is organized into an “Information processing diagram” that is used to analyze interdepartmental problems. Once these problems are exposed, one of the following three approaches may be adopted in order to eliminate any interdepartmental conflicts: 1) Change the facts that serve as obstacles to resolving the conflict, 2) change awareness of the facts pertaining to information processes, or 3) change awareness of the facts pertaining to external environments.
We have determined that it is possible to apply these frameworks for analysis and improvements after having analyzed monthly planning processes at the S Plant operated by Company K, a medium-sized manufacturer of packaging materials.
This article has two intentions. One is to clarify what relationships can be found between corporate governance and exercise of voting rights by IT. The other is to make clear why IT is needed for exercising rights to vote, and how this can be practiced. Firstly, the author finds an important reason in it that corporate governance principles all over the world call for IT adoption in exercising voting rights at general meeting of shareholders. Secondly, he shows two methods in order to bring IT into the exercise of voting rights. One is an Web system and the other an E-mail system. Then, he compares two systems and points out their merits and demerits. Lastly, the author deals with some practical cases, points out some problems and shows their solutions.
The paper discusses how the open policy of standardized product effects on the structure and development of the related webs. The paper examines the situation of PDA’s related webs in Japan. The centrality of the links, the scale and numbers of the webs, and the numbers of links to the major related sites are compared.
The open policy causes the diversification of the centralities of the links. The open policy increases the numbers and links. On the other hand, the open policy decreases the scale. The difference of the open policies among the 3 standards in Japanese PDA industry can explain the situation of the related webs. However, there are some exceptional phenomena. Those exceptions can be complementarily explained by the frequency of renewal, the policy of the manufactures to facilitate the development of related webs, and the commitment of customers to the products.
This paper deals with the modeling and analysis of the information sharing among corporate business activities on the basis of questionnaire about the Electronic Commerce(EC) for the Japanese firms. At first, several hypotheses are proposed about the realization of contract for the information sharing, and the re-use of the EDI data. It is also taken as a hypothesis which effect has the Web-EDI to the conventional EDI transactions. The result of the analysis is summarized as a set of frequency tables and we also use the statistical test to distinguish the effect of the information sharing and the advanced EDI protocols. As a result, it is found that almost all firms have few concern about making the agreement for the information sharing. It is also shown that firms who are positive to EDI transactions have high potential for the re-use of the EDI data. Finally, we find that the replacement of conventional EDI to the Web-EDI may bring some kind of confusion, and causes a kind of degradation.
