There are the 1: 3, 000 topographical maps of the Tokyo Met. in the National Diet Library. They are well-known on the map catalog of the National Diet Libraly. So far, they have been said to be that maps for Great Kanto Earthquake revival. By examining all figures in detail, it can be classified into the following four small groups, 1. General maps, 2. Pubished by MEIHOH-DO, 3. Pubished by UCHIYAMA-MOKEISEIZU-SHA, 4. Corrected maps. Group 2. and 3. are just earthquake disaster revival plan. But, the most earliest survey of Group 1. took place in 1921, which was before the Great Kanto Earthquake. Therefore Group 1. was created as a city planning map. After the Great Kanto Earthquake, which was was usued as an earthquake disaster revival map and the drawing range was expanded for KAWASAKI and YOKOHAMA.
Group 1., 2. and 3. were bundled up and were collected by the Imperial Library, which is the predeccessor of the National Diet Libraly. After that, they were classified was tried in the form of a publisher or a stamp, when a map room is established by the National Diet Libraly. But, they are also bundled up now, without being classified after all. More sheets of Group 4. and other groups are added, and they are open to the public as a huge collection with 414 sheets in all.
