In this study, we investigated the level of recognition of nutritional treatment and the way of interventions for chronic viral hepatitis (CVH) on registered dietitians who are engaged in nutritional treatment for CVH, and tried to write an algorithm for it. We performed the questionary survey based on our original questionnaire. We have obtained 96 answers from the registered dietitians who have took part in “Meeting of a dietician thinking about liver disease treatment” and who are working in the neighboring prefectures of Kanto. Most of the registered dietitians appreciated the importance of the nutritional treatment for CVH. However, the clinical condition for which they take some intervention and the method of the intervention were various. In addition, continuous nutritional treatment was not sufficiently provided. Judging from the result of this survey, it is difficult to say that the nutritional treatment for CVH is appropriately provided. So it is important to establish a method of standard treatment for CVH.
