In order to apply the gait analysis to clinics, the movement of the acting point of vertical component of floor reaction force is analyzed making use of video pictures during walking. This measuring system is simple and easy to set up on the floor of the rehabilitation training room. The synchronized data of the floor reaction force with video pictures are displayed at slowmotion speed to connect clinical analysis with engineering analysis.
The experimental results are as follows;
1) The stability during walking can be discussed with use of the pattern of locus and the moving velocity of the acting point of vertical component of floor reaction force.
2) It is confirmed that this system is quite effective for mutual understanding about the gait analysis between clinicians and engineers.
