The purpose of this study is to find the new periodic change in the α wave activities of EEG during day time. In addition, the psychological state, especially mood, was investigated in order to find the relationship between mood and α wave activities. EEG records were obtained from 6 young health students (aged 20-23). The analyzed results of the records were as follows:
    (1) In diurnal rhythms of the α wave power, it was recognized that there were several kinds of Ultradian rhythms, whose periods were about 70sec. 23∼min. 1.5hr. 4-5hr, and 6-8hr.
    (2) In the α wave amplitude during day time, we observed that there were some variations about ±30% in the α wave power.
    (3) At about 2:00pm, it was recognized that the positive and negative mood showed the violent variation.
    (4) There were the significant correlation between the α wave power and the Fatigue-Sleep and Vigor-Activity mood.

Four male students performed bicycle ergometer work at different work loads (0-900kgm/min) for different durations of work (4-15mm). From the data on oxygen uptake and heart rate during work and recovery, oxygen cost and cardiac cost per minute of the work above resting level were calculated. At the same work load, oxygen cost and cardiac cost per minute of work were almost same regardless of different durations of work. The regression of cost per minute against work load was linear in oxygen cost, and quadratic in cardiac cost.
If the duration of work is taken into account, the total oxygen or cardiac cost per minute can be estimated by the recovery cost above resting level on the basis of their linear relationship. In practical situations, the method by the 3-min recovery cost above zero is considered to be useful for the evaluation of oxygen cost as well as cardiac cost.

In this paper, a new technique of converting the frequency of EEG to audiofrequency is proposed. The EEG signal is sampled and converted to digital data, then stored to the digital ring memory successively. Reading out these data with more rapid speed than the storing speed, the iterated waveform of original signal is obtained and consequently the frequency is converted to higher one. Moreover, the possibilities of the extraction of the specific information contained in EEG, through hearing, are experimentally explored.
