Of the values in the present stem volume table, 2.7% are diff erent from those calculated by the volume equations, with the absolute error exceeding 0.01m^3. Most of the errors occur at the junction of the volume equations. The methods for correcting the values calculated by the volume equations were arranged into four groups: correction is unnecessary(30 tables), three-point moving average for each junction of volume equations(36 tables), five-point moving average for each junction(10 tables), and other corrections(7 tables). When the values were corrected by each of these methods, diff erent values that showed an absolute error of more than 0.01m^3 decreased to 0.7% of all the volume tables.
