    Fixation and preservation of urethral indwelling catheter and urinary tract tube are important to ensure treatment and patient safety. In the present study, a system to objectively and quantitatively monitor and record the fixation and preservation status of catheter and tube wirelessly (remote area) using a reed switch was created and a basic assessment was performed. The system configuration consisted of a reed switch, micro-controller (WiFi module), light-emitting LED, piezoelectric speaker, and neodymium magnet. The results of the reaction range experiment of the reed switch revealed that the reaction limit distance of the small diameter magnet was short. The results of operation accuracy experiment of the system revealed that the reed switch and the magnet repeatedly touched and did not touch at intervals of 5 seconds, 10 seconds, and 15 seconds during a 60-second period, and it was confirmed to operate at cycles of 6, 3, and 2 times, respectively. Furthermore, the results of the system operating condition experiment could confirm the display and recording of measurement data in a remote area. The use of this system will lead to the prevention of medical accidents due to tube movement and can contribute to the improvement of patient safety.
