For the volume reduction of uranium waste solution generated in the process of negative staining of cells with uranyl acetate, waste solution treatment using poly-silicate iron (PSI) flocculant was investigated. As a result of this study, after adding the PSI flocculant and adjusting the pH of the solution around 7.5 to 8.0, it was possible to process below the regulated concentration limit of uranium in wastewater. In addition, the amount of PSI added in this treatment was 1/100 or less of the volume ratio to the uranium waste solution. The volume reduction ratio was 1/1250 by weight.
