Pulses were taken by using three sensors, one of whitch was put on top of the index finger, another on the middle finger and the last on the ring finger.
Pulses were taken from patients and normal subjects and were described as pressure pulse waves.
The pressure of the tips of fingers when doing a pulse diagnosis was measure for seven chinese doctors. Consequently, we confirmed that the pressure was distributed widely and the technique of pulse diagnosis included a lot of individual factors.
On the other hand, we found several pressure pulse waves were significant in relation to findings of pulse diagnosis.

At the acupuncture clinic, we sometimes eneounted some out patients who complained that their symptoms did not improve in spite of treatment and medication.
Two patients that we had treated several times complained they were not any better. They had chronic obstinate pain.
We examined them carefully, and found one of them had cancer of the sacrum, the other had a braintumor.
It is necessary to suspect the existence of organic disease when examining a patient who has chronic obstinate pain.
From this case report, we emphasize some effects of therapeufic diagnosis during acupuncture therapy.

We have investigated that a relation between the phenomenon of propagated sensation and meridian on the anamnesis and non-anamnesis subjects.
The source point, “Taisho” of the liver meridian was stimulated by an acupuncture needle with the electronic currents.
No relations were found between the phenomenon of propagated sensation and meridian, and their mutual similarity. However, the most subjects, who have been either recorded anamnesis or present status, significantly prompt appeared any reactions than normal subjects. Also, the any responses by stimulations were found that subjects who has present status, showed higher parcentage than past one at the pathogenic region.
These results suggested that the phenomenon of propagated sensation and meridian and pathogenic regions might be close relations.

Male SHR used in the study were 11 and 24 weeks old.
Each age of male rats were divided in two groups, treatment group and control group, and each group consisted of 7 to 8 animals.
The animal of treatment groups were given a stimulating moxibustion of the Amon point analogus to that of human to SHR.
The amount of the stimulation were dosed by the moxa of 0.5mg per 1 gram body weight in two groups. The control group was free from stimulation.
More generously rise in blood pressure and the suppressed body weight gain were observed in the stimulated group of the 11 weeks after birth (T1 group).
T1 group showed significantly low blood pressure compared to that of the control by five days after the stimulation.
The stimulation group in 24 weeks after birth (T2 group) didn't show the remarkable changes compared to that of the control.
The organ weight of the adrenal and the cerebrum were significantly high in T1 group compared to that of the control. Result of the fixed quantity to catecholamine in serum in T1 group didn't show the remarkable changes.
    Discussion and Conclusion.
The stimulus by means of moxibustion was effective to the generously rise of blood pressure and to the suppressed body weight gain for the early stage in hypertension but not for the advance stage in hypertension.

The effect of moxibustion on the endocrinosis elicited by disorders of the autonomic nervous system was investigated in hypophysectomized rat.
Natural gain of body weight was stopped, adrenals and testis became atrophied, urinary output increased, and the rectal temperature slightly dropped after hypophysectomy.
Applying moxibustion did not correct these synptoms.
Furthermore, in spite of electrolyte and amino acid metabolism, significant decrease of Na, K, Cl, Ca and a slight decrease of urea nitrogen and creatinine in urine was recognized. But these were not modify by moxibustion.
With respect to the adrenal cortical study, there were a slight increase of 17-OHCS and a mild decrease of 17-KS in urine. Moxibustion did not effect either 17-OHCS or 17-KS.

Authors evaluated which factor among age, sex and season influences each Ryodoraku, and to what extent, using socalled healthy children.
    METHOD
Ryodorakumeasurement was conducted on the same subjects in two different seasons. Comparison was done between groups divided according to their sex andage. The measured value of skin electro-resistance at the Ryodoraku representative measuring points and excitation-inhibition frequency were analyzed using single- and multi-variate data analysis.
    RESULT
    1) Each group showed slightly different Ryodoraku characteristics.
    2) The differences among each group were greatest between the two seasons and rather big between years, however, small between male and female.
    3) These tendencies werejobserved in both analyses using the measured values and using frequency.

A relationship of acupuncture stimulation to secretion of insulin was investigated by stimulating various meridian points which are usually used for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. As a result, it was demonstrated that Quchi (LI-11) is closely related to insulin secretion. This study was carried out to investigate a relationship of each of Hege (LI-4), Shousanli (LI-10), Jugu (LI-16), Yingxing (LI-20), which are located on the large intestine channel of hand-yangming, to secretion of insulin.
When stimulated by a 30 minutes placing needle, all four meridian points evidently increased secretion of insulin and integrated insulin response for 60 minutes during oral glucose tolerance test. Among others, Hege stimulation showed the most remarkable increase in insulin secretion.
The result obtained seems to suggest that is a close relationship between insulin secretion and the large intestine channel of hand-yangming.

Tinnitus is one of the most common ear symptoms, which annoys otolaryngologists. We have treated these patients suffering from tinnitus, with acupuncture, a technique of traditional oriental medicine.
This study includs 55 patients, 22 males and 33 female who came to the ENT department of National Medical Center Hospital of Japan from March 1982 to April 1983.
We chose two points for acupuncture. First is upper part of tragus. Here we set a needle and stimulated with low frequency electricity. Second is cymba conchae which is said to have some relation with kidney in oriental medicin A needle was set here and remained for a week.
Tinnitus was improved in 31 cases (56%) and remained unchanged in 24 cases. Improvement was seen particular in the cases seemed to have psychogenic or autonomic causes.
We consider acupuncture for tinnitus is one of the way for the treatment in tinnitus.

In our clinic, blood pressure measurement has been done for many patients with various chief complaints. Acupuncture treatment was undertaken to improve their chief complaints according to Kurono's whole-body adjustment. We carried out a research paying attention to the fact that the patients with elevations of the blood pressure at the first visit showed a tendency to gradual decrease of the values.
According to the values of the first measurement, patients were divided into two groups in accordance with WHO's criteria: Hypertension group and Boundary one.
The first measurement velues and the averaged values of the following seven measurements undertaken before treatment were compared using histgram and t-test.
The descent of the blood pressure was seen in both Hypertension and Boundary group.

Akabane's method includes two types of treatment: symptomatic one called Honchi and meridian one called Hyochi. In the former, the heat sensitivity of the terminal points of the fourteen meridians is determined using the Chinetsu-Kando measurement. The unbalanced meridians, whose heat sensitivity is found unbalanced between rigt and left, are treated with special procedures. In the latter, the procedures are applied to painful or stiff areas or to tender points.
Intracutaneous needling and the seesaw technique are employed as treating procedures.
Akabane's method has immediate effectiveness in treating lumbago. Intracuateneous needles and sedating puncture are applied to the associated or accumulation points of the unbalanced meridians whose heat sensitivity of one side is over twice as high as that of the other side. An additional intracutaneous needle is applied to the most painful part in the most painful posture.
This time, we found that unbalanced meridians, whose terminal point heat sensitivity is unbalanced between right and left or upper and lower, can be adjusted using the MP needle and Akabane's method. They are effective treatments for lumbago.
The direction of echo sensation of each acupoint was examined on the patients who showed an obvious meridian phenomenon.
The heart meridian and large intestine meridian were chosen. Echo sensation propagating to the both afferent and efferent directions was seen most often, followed by afferent only, then efferent only.
The direction of echo sensation did not nessesarily coincide with that of meridian stream.
