In this paper, the scope of the design process is discussed from the perspective of the function aspect. In particular, semi-open spaces like entrance spaces of office buildings are studied and examine their effects on users. The architects and engineers develop the functional design while arranging various conditions based on the conceptual design. The content of the function design should be in accordance with the user’s desire. Therefore, it is important to focus on understanding the emerged functions created by users finally. However, the traditional design process of architecture has almost no functional design study. In this paper, the process of creation of architecture is studied from the viewpoint of the functional aspect totally.
