In this paper, amid apprehensions about a decline in academic ability in the education of dietitian training courses, the implementation of active instruction making use of three-dimensional (3D) educational medium specializing in the tactile sensation is thought to hold the key to problem-solving. In response, this research aimed at heightening the effects of education in specialized basic fields by providing 3D educational medium. The fields in question concerned the molecular structures of protein, low molecular weight compounds, and other items which tend to be hard for students in dietitian training courses to comprehend. First, stereolithography was used to prepare the 3D educational medium. This enabled the production of forms with high-throughput and high-quality, and low levels of cost. In addition, to measure results for learning, the research assessed the education effects by means of a questionnaire survey on the target subjects. As a result, it was found that education utilizing 3D education medium improved the learning results as regard the degree of understanding of three-dimensional structures.
