Shearing is one of the most important steps in the manufacturing process because it is repeated many times until completion of the product. Therefore, it is essential for product quality control and the improvement of productivity that the machining conditions be evaluated. In this study, waveform analysis, wavelet transform analysis and chaos time series analysis were carried out of the detected AE signals during the shearing. Determination of the parameters for evaluating the machining conditions and tool life were also examined. As a result, it was shown that the RA value of the time fluctuation waveform of wavelet coefficient and chaos time series analysis results are effective parameters for evaluating these factors.
