The relationship between the patients' daily living attitude and its determinant factors was studied.
Time study and the Index of daily activity were examined of 39 patients in medical wards.
The results were obtained as follows;
1) The time when the patient was on the bed was averaged about 16 hours a day. Index of daily activity was estimated as 0.22, which meant rather the light activity of the daily living.
2) One factor determining Index of daily activity was the expression style of doctors' instruction toward the patient. The expressions "Rest-in-bed", "Need-not-rest" were so much effective that the patients would obey without unanimity.
