    In this Part 3, the measuring method of the radius from the screw axis to any point on the lace-way surface of the nut or the threaded shaft of the ball screw is reported. There are many reports on the measuring method about the triangular hericoidal surface, but rather few about generalized hericoidal surface.
    Here is reported a measuring method on latter and its theoretical calculation.

    In lapping of steel balls, the ball motion mechanism is influenced by groove angle on lap disk. This also depends on kinds of lapping compound, lap materials and so on. But we investigated the effects of lapping quantity, sphericity of balls and cutting resistance caused by changing lap groove angle and lapping pressure and maintaining other conditions constant : that is definite lapping compound, its supplying method, lap material, etc.
    Then we reached following conclusion by comparing theoretical analysis with experimental results.
    (1) Lapping quantity varies considerably according to groove angle, and lapping quantity in the case of unsymmetry angle becomes larger than in the case of symmetry angle with same magnitude. Also, this tendency decreases under high lapping pressure (more than 100 gr./piece).
    (2) In the case with symmetry groove angle, the ratio of lapping effect in each contact point between steel ball and lap disk is as follows.
    A : B: C=1 : 1.7 : 1.5
    (3) Smaller the magnitude of groove angle, the sphericity of balls becomes better, and the effect depending on symmetrization is more inconsiderable.

    The electrical contact type governers are widely used as the velocity control mechanisms for micro-motor. The chief factors effective for the behaviour of this type governer are composed of (1) vibration of its pendulum system, (2) inductance of the motor coil, (3) electrical resistance of the contact point, and also (4) vibration of the motor shaft.
    In this paper, are mainly studied by theoretical treatment of the problems concerning to the rotation velocity control accompanied with the vibration phenomena of the governer pendulum system. For the respective variations of the source voltage and the load applied to the motor, both the average rotation velocity of the motor and the pendulum amplitude. of the governer system are able to be calculated quantitatively when both of the electric elements of the motor and the constructive elements of the governer are given. The theoretical results thus obtained are also confirmed to be reasonable by experiments.

    Titanium is a material hard to machine. The machinability of commercially pure titanium ST 60 is investigated experimentally from various standpoints, that is, chip formation, cutting force, tool wear, tool life, etc. The machinability in terms of chip formation and cutting force is better than ordinary ferrous materials, whereas the machinability of tool wear or tool life is extremely poor although the cutting temperature is not so high.
    This will be attributed to its extraordinary chemical activity and thus considerable welding to a tool material.
    Based upon the extensive tool life tests, the most suitable tool material (K 10), the most adequate tool shape (-5° side rake angle) for turning titanium have been selected, the effects of feed, depth of cut, cutting speed, machining atmosphere, etc. being investigated to establish the machining standard.

    This report is only the introduction of the project to establish the machining standards for various important metals specified by the Japanese Standard. The major items of the test are selection of carbide grade, tool shape, speeds, and feed for turning typical five grades of plain carbon steels, and close investigation of the tool life from the viewpoint of both flank wear and crater.
    According to the test result, crater wear is the most serious problem in turning the carbon steels. Therefore, every effort should be made to control crater wear in selecting the best carbide grade, tool shape, cutting conditions, etc.

    レジノイド砥石の研削液による劣化について,NaOH溶液を使用して実験を行なつた結果,砥石の強度は浸漬条件によつて大きく低下し,なかでも浸漬時間,液温,粒度による影響がとくに大きい。溶液濃度(0.1%以下),ボンド率,嵩比重による影響は少ない。砥石の強度を減少させる原因としてはアルカリによる結合剤の溶解よりも,膨潤による結合剤の軟化の方が大きい。
    なお溶液濃度0.1%,液温80℃の溶液中に粒度80番の砥石を1時間浸漬した場合,その砥石の破砕減耗強度が1/4以下に低下することは研削作業上十分留意すべきことである。
