Some properties such as sinterability, microstructure, mechanical properties, oxidation resistance, etc. were studied on Ti(C, N)-Mo
2C, Ti(C, N)-WC and TiC-Mo
2C compacts in relation to sintering temperature (1773-2073K) and atmosphere (vacuum or nitrogen). Carbonitride powders of TiC
0.7N
0.3 and TiC
0.5 N
0.5 were used as starting ones. It was suggested that TiC
0.5N
0.5-(10-15)%Mo
2C compact shows the most excellent properties, when it is sintered in N
2 of 20kPa at about 1973K. The results were in detail discussed.
