To obtain information about the size and the shape of the useful cosmetic compact, sensory evaluation test has been performed using some kinds of compact for sixteen subjects from eighteen years old to twenty-four years old women. For the square compact, no effect of the hand size and the head size for subjects were observed, and the size of the useful square compact was about 73 mm. It was clear that the size of the useful square compact was nearly same as the size of the comfort compact for holding, and smaller than the size of the comfort compact for looking. For the various shape of compacts, the lengthwise (about 1.45 times longer) and the round compacts were evaluated for the more useful compact. Moreover, the comfort configurations of the compacts for holding and looking were discussed by the arch of hand and the effect of spinning the mirror.
It is quite important for mapping up design strategies to study on "what style of vehicles would sell in the future?". To enhance the design planning quality through the application of "Science SQC", the present study aims at achieving the following: (1) To materialize vehicle images as desired by customers, (2) To analyze causal relations between the customer satisfaction assessment and the vehicle appearance review factors on the basis of the appearance style assessment, and (3) Based on the knowledge thus acquired, to understand the relevancy between vehicle images and proportion data and reflect the results to the design planning. In the current study, the following items have been verified: We have analytically indicated the causal relationship of steps that convert the customers' sensory factor which is a direct decision-making factor for purchasing, into a concrete contour as "Design SQC" by utilizing "Scinence SQC". By noting that the processing of analysis itself can be part of conception and judgement of the "Designing", "SQC Technical Methods" which are a part of core technologies of "Science SQC", is applied as an analytical method. It is proposed and verified with the examples of application as the profile design support tool.
The relation of the person's own evaluation of the suitability of the atmosphere of a place and her outfit, and the evaluation of third parties who viewed a slide projection of her outfit was examined. We selected the hall where a graduation party as the place of the experiment. As a result, a high correlation was seen between the self-evaluation and the evaluation by others. And in cases where the outfits received a high self-evaluation, the evaluation by others is lower. The cause is thought to be that self-satisfaction influences the self-evaluation, but this factor does not affect the evaluation by others.
