Periodontal disease in dogs is a common disease encountered in daily clinical practice, and in cases of severe periodontaldisease, tooth extraction is recommended rather than tooth preservation. We performed a minimally invasive techniqueusing a microscope on two small dogs with severe periodontal disease of the maxillary fourth premolar. In both cases, periodontaltissue regeneration was observed 2 months after surgery. Minimally invasive techniques using a microscope appear to beextremely effective when performed appropriately.
