A 10-year-old, spayed female, mixed cat was presented with alopecia and scaling on the head and neck for a half-year. Skin scraping and fungal culture did not show any abnormality, and administration of ivermectin and itraconazole were not effective. Histopathologic examination revealed granulomatous inflammation at the sebaceous gland, and mural folliculitis associated with CD3 positive T cells were observed. The cat was treated with prednisolone 2 mg/kg SID, and hair growth appeared afterward.

A skin biopsy was performed to the cat with erythema, scale, alopecia distributing from back to hip and erosion around eyes. Histopathological examination on the skin biopsy specimen suggested systemic lupus erythematosus as one of differential diagnoses. Antinuclear antibody and severe proteinuria with urinary casts were detected. By renal biopsy, membranous nephropathy was histopathologically diagnosed.

A ten-year-old neutered male Beagle dog was presented with a one-year history of intermittent limb swelling. Some parts of the skin were so swollen that they erupted, and the tick oily substance drained from them. Cytological examination of the draining substance revealed necrotic fat tissue. It led to suggest that panniculitis caused the substance to be there. Radiograph of the left femur showed periostitis. A diagnosis of pancreatic disease was made on the findings of marked elevation of plasma lipase concentration and ultrasonographic identification of the mass in the pancreatic area. A pancreatic mass was resected and it was histopathologically diagnosed as a pancreatic exocrine carcinoma. This is a rare case of pancreatic disease with panniculitis and periostitis.

Three dogs were diagnosed as erythema multiforme (EM) based on the clinical signs and histopathological findings. There were refractory annular erythema that spread peripherally on the ventrum and ulceration on the mucocutaneous junctions, oral cavity and pinnae. Histological examination revealed interface dermatitis with apoptotic keratinocytes. Examination of underlying diseases for the EM failed to show any confirmed evidences of drug eruption, viral infection and malignant tumors. Dogs were treated with prednisolone. Two dogs poorly responded to prednisolone and died from complications. One dog also failed to respond to prednisolone, but the clinical signs of the patient were improved by the administration of cyclosporine.
