I am deeply honored to receive the LRSJ Young Researcher Award (Hirono Award for Young Researcher) for my series of studies on the development of 2-μm lidar technology and its application to water vapor observation. I would first like to express my sincere gratitude to the members of the selection committee for providing me with this opportunity, as well as to my collaborators for their continued support through valuable discussions and advice, and to the organizations that provided a supportive research environment and opportunities to take on new challenges. This research is by no means the achievement of an individual; rather, it has progressed through the accumulation of extensive cooperation and mutual trust. I regard this award as tangible recognition of that collective journey. Taking the LRSJ Young Researcher Award as a milestone, this paper describes the content and significance of advances in 2-μm lidar technology and its application to water vapor observation, with a focus on previously published papers and presentations at domestic and international conferences.
