    This paper surveys the basic system of food safety and certain perspectives of it in Japan,the USA, the EU, and China since the outbreaks of BSE and bird-influenza, as well as discoveries of various kinds of food found to be hazardous to human health throughout the world. The fundamental aspect regarding the securing of food safety is the introduction of a method of crisis analysis that covers the entire breadth of the food chain, “from Farm to Folk. ”
    Some cases emphasize the importance of establishment of the Food Safety Commission. Due to the overall complexities and difficulties of discovery concerning food safety, some cases introduce the Precautionary Principle.Yet another case study emphasizes the importance of Food Education as a social tool with which to raise awareness of the importance of food safety This study calls for the restructuring of the entire social model, entailing a change of consciousness and recognition that would facilitate the construction of a new social model based on food safty.
