To investigate the magnetic contributions of each iron site in Nd

14B (M=Al, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, Pt) have been measured and preferential occupation of M atoms in Fe sites have been determined by Mossbauer spectroscopy. Mössbauer spectra are analyzed by our original method of analysis which take into account the effect of environments and the degree of preference in each Fe site. These analyses have revealed that
Tc increases with the expansion of the lattice parameter
c when the
k1 and
j1 sites are preferentially substituted by M atoms while it decreases when the
j2 site is preferentially occupied by M. It seems that ferromagnetic interaction between Fe layers increases by the expansion and decreases with the occupation of M atoms in the
j2 site. On the other hand,
Ts decreases when the
c site is preferentially substituted. This fact suggests that
Ts relates to interaction between Fe and Nd atoms.
