Information gathering was important even in the Age of Civil Wars in 16th-century Japan, and also valued were the secrets of military arts. Today, as published information is increasing more and more without any order or system, the capacity to pick up necessary information out of such chaos becomes vital in every aspects of life. In the period of high economic growth everything produced could find their markets so that only information about production technology was requested, but in the present low growth period, the more needed are information effective for finding out good-selling merchandises. But such information is quite scarce. In short, there is a gap between information required and information given. The information becomes powerful and fruitful only when man gathers them with intention and analyzes, them to the purpose. A good example is the information on the manufactureof acetaldelyde from ethylene with palladium. If there is more information, the better, but in any case the users are humans and the information is, in essence, processed by them.
