    Bravice International, Inc. purchased mechanical translation system, Weidner System 100 (developed in U.S.A.) in 1980, and developed the system further for pratical use. The system has been in use for technical translation from English to Spanish and vice versa since then. Three softwares for translation from German to English and vice versa, and others are available at the present moment. The system evalution, and matters to resolved from now on, that is, (1) structure of a dictionary and (2) interface between word processor and OCR, are described.

    In order to realize an efficient retrieval system for non-numerical information such as drawings, technical materials and so on which used to be exempted from EDPS because of cost restriction the system combining retrieval function by computers with microfilms was constructed. The system has been succeedingly enhanced and enlarged. It aims at making the network linking the technical information center with satellite stations located inside and outside the Company.
