This paper describes an information-analytical study of the articles published in the JOHO KANRI (Journal of Information Processing and Management) in the recent decade. For this purpose, we examined all controlled and free index-terms (CTs and FTs) assigned to every articles which were published in the journal from Vol.31 (FY1988) to Vol.39 (FY1996) and cited in the JICST File on Science and Technology. Among 1,137 different CTs indexed at least one time, 99 top terms which occurred ten or more times covered 51% of all CT occurrences. On the other hand, only 9 among 418 different FTs were indexed five or more times and covered only 18% of all FT occurrences. Every CT and FT indexed at least 2 times was classified into 14 categories and the distribution of occurrences among these categories and its change with year were analyzed. Topics treated in JOHO KANRI in this decade were discussed by examining high-occurrence terms in each category. The most outstanding point is rapid growth of terms related the Internet in recent years.

Digital watermarking technologies are recently taken great attention as a copy protection means of digital contents; video and audio. The watermarking technologies are ones that sub-information can be embedded into main-information (contents) imperceptibly. When a copyright holder's ID or user's ID is embedded as a sub-information, the technologies are applied as the useful means for clearing of copyright holder, convenience of copyright consent process and determent of illegal digital copy. In this paper, we describe an abstract of digital watermarking technologies and the present state first. Then, requirements and problems are listed when the technologies are used as a means of copyright protection of digital contents.
