The conversion of publicly funded research papers into Open Access continues to progress. However, because "real" Open Access research papers should be freely accessed as well as reused, they should focus on their secondary uses or reuses, not only be just released. In this paper I will give an outline of the ideas, basic structure and current status of Creative Commons, the organization internationally becoming the de facto standard for licensing when converting contents to open source. In addition, I will outline the merits and demerits of adopting Creative Commons as well as factors to be considered, points which often can be an obstacle when adopting it.

Utilization of big data in medical is expected in recent years, but the challenge of the data collection about nursing has just started. In 2012, "Database for improvement of Nursing Quality and Labor (DiNQL) project" was established by Japanese Nursing Association, aimed to improve work environments for nurses and the quality of nursing. This project intends to contribute to the management of nurse administrators, through the nursing care benchmarking and performance evaluation by unit-level. 4,964 units of 583 hospitals participate in the DiNQL to measure nursing quality and strengthen the nursing work environment in 2016. DiNQL is the largest nursing database in Japan. This article provides an overview of nursing big data first, and then describing the work and accomplishments related to the DiNQL. More than fifteen years has passed since Japan Center for Asian Historical Records (JACAR) was established under the jurisdiction of the National Archives of Japan in November 2001. In the past decade and a half, JACAR has stored approximately two million items (30 million images), releasing them for domestic and foreign users. About such activities, this article introduces our effort and current projects. Additionally, we examine JACAR's original metadata-system and content recently released to promote use of our database. We explore how we have facilitated use of our huge database for general users, particularly by emphasizing the collection of keywords from digital document text. Moreover, we provide those keywords on our website and content to improve searches. Furthermore, we include information on activities to foster cooperation with other archives and libraries as we try to serve as a hub for Asian historical records.

We discuss disparity of informatics education in Japan, describing the current situation of the subject "informatics" in high schools as an example of the disparity. We also touch upon possible future disparity in programming education in elementary schools, which is currently planned by the government. We then point out that for eliminating the mentioned disparity, teachers in schools and education committees should recognize the importance of informatics education. We claim that firmly defining "informatics" as a parental discipline for informatics education is a prerequisite for the recognition, and report "Reference Standard of Informatics," which was published by Science Council of Japan. We finally point out the need of "Reference Standard of Informatics Education", which will systematize the entire informatics education from elementary schools to undergraduate and graduate programs.
