This paper summarizes the results of way-finding experimental study about the way-finding from the main subway station to the surface goal in Osaka-city. The human behavior was recorded by the video camera and thinking-aloud protocol data was recorded by the IC recorder. The group that is superior in sense of direction acts in expectation, but the other inferior group doesn't. Comparing the former with the latter, the latter locked at the sign board many times and also for a long time. It was considered that the former did the way-finding with imaging the space, but the latter acted without the space imagination.
In the present paper, we discuss the measure of the point pairs whose distance are less than a distance r in a given area. By differentiating this measure with respect to r, we get the function f(r) which is called by distance distribution. Using formulae in Integral Geometry, we get an approximate polynomial for the distance distribution in an arbitrary convex region. The approximate expression consists of the area S and the perimeter L of the region and have good fitness to the numerical distributions of governmental districts in Tokyo.
This paper focuses on the past 40 years since the city planning law was legislated in 1968, and addresses two points. The first point is that the database on the city planning decisions of roads in Tokyo Ward Area has been prepared for the first time. The policy of Tokyo Metropolitan Government in terms of road planning, which is the second point, has been adapted to the rapid changes of the socioeconomic state of the country. Principal purposes of amendments of road city planning in each decade have been changed from traffic volume management to traffic environmental solution, that to the related amendments to large-scaled urban renewal project. During the 40-year period, major changes of citizen participation system and the city planning tools have aiso been made.
Local city carries out various transportation policies, in addordance with its situation and characteristics. The inhabitant may require the explanation of the policy execution and the effects by the transportation sector. It should take accounts not only for showing measurable benefits but also for revealing the visions and processing the policy development under the visions. This study tries the appraisal of development policy process, referring to the case of Community Bus "SANSAN BUS" of the Miyoshi town in Aichi Prefecture. As the result, the case of policy development is proved to be effective to the achievement.
In the revision of the determination of "the Disabled" in 1999, it was determined in 3 viewpoint, impairment, activity limitation and participation restriction. The aim of this determination is said that the disability depends on an person's function of daily life not on his physical conditions. According to this, a person in a transportation situation that he can not achieve his autonomous activity because of lack of proper transport method, might be judged in disability. The purpose of the present paper is to make clear the importance of activities of elderly and disabled people, and the transport situations that they are put.
A walking guidance system with FM wave information has been developed for the visually impaired. This system mainly consists of low powered transmitters operated by solar battery for sending information and a portable radio for receiving walking information. In this study, it is verified that this system is also applied to the elderly. In order to evaluate this system, experiments with the visually impaired and the elderly were conducted. As a result, it was made clear that the walking guidance system developed for the visually impaired has also usefulness to provide information for the elderly.
Recently, the social environment changes. Problems such as lowering og the physical fitness and various and new diseases are arising. Therefore, the sports promotion is being attempted. The inhabitant activity including sports is the activity for the hobby of the self. Therefore, it is connected only with the individual activation. However, sports may be also connected with doing in the group, for energization of a region. This research has noticed the synthetic club raised in many cities. Then, this research clarifies the effect in which the region is activated by the synthetic club using the questionnaire survey. Using the result, this research considers the policy of future region sports club rearing. This is a purpose of this research.
道路や廃棄物処理施設など公共性の高い施設の建設・立地プロセスにおいて，NIMBY(Not In My Back Yard)現象が発生し，事業を円滑に進めるための努力がより一層必要とされるケースが増えつつある．欧米では施設立地プロセスに住民参加を図る取組みが，20-30年前より制度として位置づけられ，実施されている．住民参加プログラムの設計に際しては様々な要素が注意深く考慮されるが，その根底には参加の機会や情報提供に係わる「公平性」の確保があると考えられる．本研究は，主として社会心理学，社会学の文献サーベイより，施設立地プロセスにおける公平性の視点を提案している．更にこの視点を用いて，カナダとスイスにおける一般廃棄物埋立て処分場の立地プロセスを評価し，公平性に対する潜在的な認知ギャップを早期に発見，合意に向けてのルールや決め方に関して共通の理解を得ておくことが重要であることを明らかにした．
