A genetic analysis showed the fact that the representation of fasciation in the Japanese morning glory, at least in my specimens, is determined by three recessive factors,
f1,
f2 and
f3. There occur about 20%-25% of crossing over between
f1 and
f2, and these two factors link closely with
p, pear leaf factor. The frequency of crossing over between
f1 and
p is ca. 2.5%. The strong accompanyment of the fasciated stem and pear leaf is due to the linkage. In the hybrid progeny, there appeared some false normals. Under these conditions the segregating mode of fasciation in the hybrid progeny was very complicated. The factor
f3 links with
v, variegation factor, in a moderate intensity.
