Rotatory Brownian motion of protein molecules in concentrated protein aqueous solutions and the viscosity of the solutions (bovine serum albumin: BSA, and hemoglobin: Hb) were compared as a function of concentration. The correlation time τ of the Brownian motion was measured by means of proton homonuclear Overhauser effect without deuteration. The relative viscosity η
r was measured using a conventional Ostwald viscometer. Although τ and η
r apparently showed similar concentration dependences in Hb solution, these did quiet different concentration dependences in BSA solution, where the concentration at the divergence of the correlation time exceeded considerably that of the viscosity.
