The purpose of this study was to show the effectiveness of care protocol by Certified Nurse Specialist (CNS) in liason-psychiatric nursing for the people with chronic illness in the general hospital. ACNS in liason-psychiatric nursing intervened to the patients according to the standard of care protocol by CNS. This care protocol was constructed by the previous researches and intervention had been implemented by CNS mainly. Thirty patients who consented to this study were intervened by CNS between Feb. 2012 and Mar. 2013. They had chronic illness which was ALL,AML,CML,and ML without mental illness. Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), Performance Status (PS), Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), SF-8 (Short-Form8) and Client Satisfaction Questionnaire (CSQ) were written by patients at the time of baseline before intervention and at the end of intervention. Those questionnaires were returned to CNS. Thirty patients had high NRS and PS scores and moderate depression and anxiety scores at the baseline, but after intervention, NRS, PS, depressive-anxiety state, and SF-8 were significantly improved. The improvement of NRS and PS were caused by physical treatment. But depression-anxiety and SF-8 were significantly improved by care of CNS. In this study it was thought that mild depression-anxiety caused by psychosocial problems were improved by CNS. But this study had some limitation which were small subjects and no control group. So this study couldn't be generalized.
