According to the results of Drs. T. Sato and T. Tabayashi, it has been clearly demonstrated that there is great advantage in use of urethroscope for the treatment of gonorrhoea. The present author would like to emphasize the merrit of such method through his personal clinical experiences of repeated use of 250 times, and would like to call attentions of practicing physisians in this special field.
As to the types of the urethroscope, I would like to recommend either the Sato's or Takagi's, or both.
According to my observations the ductus paraurethrales was found most often in the upper part of the posterior half in pars cavernosa. This observation is different from what had been noticed by Sato, yet such differnce may be explained that the cases examined might not have been the same; that is to say the difference in the stage of the advancement of the gonorrhoea. Consequently the different results of observation depend upon the degree of the opening of Morgangi's lacuna and Littre's urethral glands. This supposition could be varified easily by the fact that when a same patient was examined more than once, the first time there may be only one but the othertimes there may by found several of them there. Not only this, there were 45 cases in which the findings were vice-versa.
The comparative studies of the numbers of gonococci found in the urine just before and immediate after the insertion of urethroscope of 41 patients showed that the use of urethroscope had a good effect in the course of gonorrhoea. Furthermore it was learned that even if a case was in semi-acute stage if proper cares and precautions were taken the insertion of urethros did effected antagonistically.
ke observation of minute ductus paraurethrales easy and Thiotargen or Protargol into the duct so as nent, in ction of medium into the ductus paraurethrales has desirable results at a certain stage of the disease. It was somewhat surprising to me discover a number of marked redness at the region of pars bulubosa.
The highest number of ductus paraurethrales found in anterior region was 14 but the average was 5.9per person, which is very nearly the same as what Sato found, being 5.7.
From above facts the use of urethroscope in the treatment of gonorrhoea has a great value especially in its complete cure as well as the discovery of incubating gonococci.
