Little study has been done, so far, on hydraudynamic pressure in duct within rock during severe earthquake. In this paper, the effects of duct-rock interaction on hydraudynamic pressure within duct are studied using simple model. Kinematic interaction effect, kinetic interaction effect, as well as the effect of reflection at the end of duct are examined, and the importance of kinematic interaction and material damping of rock are pointed out.
