In order to actively coordinate with diversing social needs, it is very important to bring up 'Holon-type' engineers, having both abilities such as individuality, i.e. 'On' (self setting for target aimed) and harmony, i. e. 'Hol' (adaptability to organizational change). For this purpose, supplying "subject matter and stimulating field" is very required for the "active learning" best fit for each student of his or her ability and will.

Lack of systematic education on production systems might undermine human infrastructures of Japanese industries. As production engineers support the current production systems and their development, the education is indispensable that gives students the knowledge and practices on the fundamentals of production systems, their reality and their leading technologies. We developed in our campus of Chuo University an autonomous distributed type factory system that consists of an NC machining center, an NC lathe, an industrial robot, an AGV and other equipments. Using the system, education and practices are performed not only on the basic components of production systems but also on the methodologies such as centralized production, autonomous distributed production using data carrier, and anthropocentric production based on programmable control panels.

Department of Mechano-Aerospace Engineering of Tokyo Institute of Technology started creativity education. It is based on the concept to give students as many opportunity as possible to have the chance to touch the machine itself. The main curriculums contains; the course to decompose many types of machine which are donated from industries with their own hands, course of mechatronics, and course of computer technology. After these preparation students take the course to construct performance robots and street artist robot contest is held for their presentation. Creative design course is also open to the student.

In Tottori area, collecting and training human resources is a very important and urgent problem in order to develope rural industries and their technologies, because of their low labour productivity and value added productivity. But it is not easy to solve the problem rapidly.
Now each enterprise buckles down to collect and train human resources, in staking its survival, with the self-sustained spirit and authorities' aid in this area.
We have been carrying out "practical education of engineers" for students and "training extension course" for rural engineers in our college and have made not a little contribution to collecting and training rural human resources. Through these practices, we now believe that it's necessary to cultivate and construct industry-college-authorities co-operated education in order to collect and train rural human resources.
In this paper, we report our practices on collecting and training human resources, suggesting the "Joint Education" which should be organized through the trio co-operation.

Recent our effort is focused on how to teach attractive, undestandable and practical engineering to the students.
Some plans were discussed to carry out a new engineering education. One of the new trials was designing and manufacturing of a model strling engine, which ias nowadays one of the most interesting one for the students.
In the third year, a model was manufactured. In their senior year, the students first designed basically and, next, computer-simulated for the practical use.
Here, thogh the order is in reverse to the ordinary process, the results are pretty good, some of which are as follows; the leacture bacame more understandable for the students and their motivation was heightened, the students' ability for designing was mafe better and so on.
