In order to detect the latent gastric cancer, the mass examination by photofluorographic metnod was performed on 4, 416 persons in Iwate prefecture from October, 195 9 through March, 1963.
454 cases were judged to be abnormal by this method. 271 cases were given standard gastrointestinal examinations and the following results were obtained.
Gastric cancer 5, gastric polyp 2, gastric and duode nal ulcer 112, other gastric diseases 80 and normal 72.
In view of these facts, it was concluded that the mass examination of stomach by photofluorographic method was suitable to detect the latent gastric cancer.
