    To reduce contaminated water at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant and consider the fuel debris retrieval method, a numerical simulation method is required to evaluate the effects of water injection. Then, we are developing a multiphase CFD simulation method based on the three-dimensional two-fluid model to evaluate thermal-hydraulic behavior in the primary containment vessel of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. The numerical simulation method was developed by introducing the required functions into the ACE-3D, the three-dimensional two-fluid model analysis code developed by JAEA. This paper presents an overview of the porous model introduced to the ACE-3D to evaluate thermal-hydraulic behavior in fuel debris. In addition, we performed the numerical simulation for the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant unit 2 under the condition in which water injection stopped. And we compared the analysis results by the modified ACE-3D with more detailed three-dimensional CFD results by JUPITER.

    In recent years, awareness of SDGs and environmental problems has increased throughout the world, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving the penetration of renewable energy have been important to aim for a sustainable society. Therefore, in this study, the authors built a heat exchange cycle system of an adsorption refrigerator for generating cooling air by using low-temperature waste heat that can be used in summer for air-conditioning. An activated carbon and an ethyl alcohol are selected as adsorption material and refrigerant, and the target of cooling capacity is 1kW. The changes of the pressure in the testing machine and the circulating water temperatures were examined to make the characteristics clear, and the dependence of performance on the cycle time was evaluated. So that, the cooling capacity of 173.1W and the COP of 0.86 were obtained at the cycle time of 300 seconds.

    In a previous report, we proposed a new type of offshore floating wave power generation system and predicted its characteristics through model analysis. This device generates electricity by reciprocating water in a tank mounted on a floating structure through the oscillation of the floating structure caused by waves. In order to improve the power generation efficiency, it is necessary to match the period of the reciprocating main stream with the period of the oscillation of the floating body caused by the waves, and to keep the turbine rotating continuously. This paper reports on a method of controlling the reciprocating water flow period that was studied to improve the performance of this device.

    In this study, it is assumed that solar thermal collectors will be installed on the wall of houses so that photo voltaic facilities can be set on the roof because of the wide area requirement. The objective of this study is to focus on a vertically installed solar concentrator with mirrors designed in the previous research, and to measure its sunlight collection performance ally Granular solar cells and fixed on the collector surface to detect the sunlight directly. Measured results were compared with the simulation results, which indicates the light distribution is similar to the prediction. The light collection distribution showed a tendency similar to that of the simulation. However, there were some places where the difference in the figures between the east and west was conspicuous. The challenge is to verify the results by increasing the number of experimental measurement days.

    Various researches are being conducted on how to incorporate multi-energy systems into society, which is one of the efforts to transform what energy systems are. In optimizing a multi-energy system, it is important not only to pursue efficiency through a complicated configuration but also to design the simplest possible configuration with an awareness of cost, and it is also important to design various configuration candidates systematically rather than heuristically. Therefore, we aim to exhaustively search for cycle candidates by mathematically defining the cycle expression format for deriving the optimum cycle configuration according to the heat source conditions. However, at present, the required representation format is organized insufficiently or is not defined, and these are the reasons why heuristic consideration, examination, and codification are still required for the derivation of configuration candidates and the configuration of simulations. In this paper, we newly proposed and modified the representation forms, and we distinguished the configuration candidates, which have not been distinguished in previous studies, from the viewpoint of complexity for the first time.

    In liberalized markets, policies for renewable energy penetration depend on interactions between utilities and retailers. Multi-agent models have been widely used to analyze such interactions in electricity wholesale markets. However, few studies have been conducted for long periods of time, such as those involving power supply rebuilding. Therefore, this study examines a method to reduce the simulation time of ABM, which represents short-term wholesale power transactions of about one week. By coarsening the market demand, the time of day observed by the agent, and the incremental range of bid prices that the agent can choose, the simulation time can be reduced by up to 75% without affecting the macro trend of the average contract price over a week. Besides when there is only one generating agent of the same type, it may raise its bid price even by reducing the contract quantity. This phenomenon can be prevented by having at least two agents that handle the same type of power source.

    The objective of this study is to build an optimization model expressing the supply chain of wooden fuels from thinning to users. The whole supply chain is optimized in terms of the total economic cost to control thinning, selling, transportation, drying, processing, storage, and supply to the demand side. The model incorporates selling thinned woods as a timber and selling co-generated electricity to the grid at the feed-in tariff for renewable energy. The results show that most of thinned woods with large diameter will be sold while the woods with smaller diameter will be used for the biomass fuel. Among various users, hospital will be selected to install wood-chip co-generation.
