The system consisted of the self-field. of a plasma and the external magnetic field, “Tokamak”, is treated. The MED equilibrium equation is computed by the approximate method. The current of a plasma is replaced by the ring current on the magnetic axis. The current distribution of a plasma is as to be uniform.
Using this solution, we investigate the equilibrium in the shell-less multipole system by way of example. The gradient of the vertical magnetic field shows a focusing property, which is the same as the strong focusing accelerator, in the horizontal direction.
