We studied the hemodynamic change of main portal trunk flow volume in 5 patients with fulminant hepatitis(survival 3 patients and mortality 2 patients)using by pulsed doppler sonography.
Acute hepatitis 24 patient was used as the control. The normality range of the main portal trunk blood flow volume was made 685–1,053ml/min.
The results were as follows;
1) Though 87% showed maximum flow volume within the hospitalization 1 week, it declined after that, and became by the acute hepatitis inside all patients normality ranges.
2) Survival patients in fulminant hepatitis didn't become less than a normality range in the same way as the acute hepatitis, it became less than a normality range with mortality patients in fulminan t hepatitis.
Therefore, it thought about the decline of the main portal trunk blood flow volume with one factor that the liver regeneration function was obstructed.
3) The decline of the main portal trunk blood flow volume in fulminant hepatitis was thought to show a convalescence defect.
It considered that the progress observation of the main portal trunk blood flow volume which pulsed dopplex sonography was used for was useful for the convalescence estimation of fulminant hepatitis.
