This is a case of a 66-year-old male who was diagnosed with undifferentiated carcinoma by open lung biopsy 19 years ago, at which time an upper left lobectomy was performed. Some years later, the patient was diagnosed with lung carcinoid, which had metastasized to the pancreas and the skin and, subsequently, tumors were excised. Furthermore, 6 years ago a transthoracic echocardiography found that the patient was suffering from left ventricular hypertrophy of antero-lateral wall, from mid-part to apex and including the anterior papillary muscle, which led to a diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He had been constantly in and out of hospital for heart failure from last January. This year, progressive hypertrophy of left ventricle wall and marked narrowing of the lumen, plus the suspicion of myocardial metastases of carcinoid tumor, found with contrast CT, resulted in the removal of the tumors. We report a case of myocardial metastases of carcinoid tumor to which metastasis is relatively rare.
