Recently, a Web site has affected the impression of a company or a university. Few researches verified the relation between the composition elements of a Web site and sense of values using the nonlinear method like rough sets. Then, in this study, we made the Web site of the university belonging to a design and an information design field into a case study, and aim at clarification of the relation between the composition elements and the users' sense of values for the Web site. First, the evaluation questionnaire for sample Web sites was performed using six evaluation terms concerning the sense of value. Next, we analyzed the result of questionnaire by using multiple regression analysis, and clarified the evaluation terms affected the degree of charm. As a result, the subjects were classified by their sense of values at five clusters. Furthermore, the combinations of the composition elements of the Web site affected the degree of charm in each cluster were extracted using rough sets. As a result of verifying a new Web site on the basis of the above result, it was shown that an impression and charm are controllable.

The functional properties and form of office chairs produced in Japan after World War II have changed more than another office furniture. Especially, many reclining systems on office chairs have been developed to correspond to posture change at office work. It is important sample to explain how did ergonomics concepts have been adopted on chair development. This paper intends to make clear the transition of ergonomics concepts. Some changes on office chairs that were produced after the war were affected by ergonomics concepts. Also, the changes of backrest reclining mechanism synclonized with seat pan, that were developed after office automation at 1980s, were affected by ergonomics concepts to decrease a feeling of oppression on the thigh.

We are often annoyed by traffic jams and parking lot shortages when shopping in two or more stores. There is a system that is called a car bicycle to relieve this problem. Stores that young people like are often in a district a short distance away from downtown. Moreover, these stores often face narrow roads. And, each store is not near each other. The car bicycle is so useless for young people who enjoy shopping for such reasons. The purpose of this research is to solve such a problem. Therefore, the proposal, production, and the evaluation of a mobile vehicle were executed. First of all, marketing research was executed, and the design and production were developed based on the results. Afterwards, the experiment of use was executed in the place where the product was used. Moreover, the investigation concerning the user's opinions and the analysis concerning marketability were conducted. As the result, it was shown that the system using the proposed vehicle was useful for the transfer in the shopping.

I analyzed data obtained by a questionnaire survey of university students using a structural equation model. As a result of the analysis, I established a causal model for the effect of "self-concept factors" (interdependent construal of the self and self-esteem), which are related to "being oneself", on "trend orientation" using "achievement factors" (commonality, anxiety and evaluation) as parameters, by selecting styles of familiar industrial products. Using this model, I clarified that individuals with a high score for interdependent construal of the self consider that being oneself depends on the choice of others. On the other hand, those with a high self-esteem achieve self-realization after their choice of a product style is evaluated highly by others. Accordingly, being oneself for both types of people is considered to have a close relationship with the trend in selecting a product style.

This study is part of a series of research on current utilization of temporary elements in urban pedestrian spaces. In Taiwan temporary elements are seen everywhere in commercial pedestrian zones and those street objects are one of the approaches to vitalize a commercial space. Findings indicate no matter what the type may be users generally are not concerned about the ownership; they are more concerned about whether the purpose of their activities in a particular space can be accomplished. Thus, the value of those temporary elements depends on the activities their type and their equipment can offer. No matter what the type may be, it can be asserted that temporary elements transform the pedestrian space into a commercial one. Even though users and storeowners generally believe that temporary elements interfere with the pass-through traffic, they both also point out that if government agencies work with storeowners and establish an effective managerial mechanism, the presence of temporary elements can energize the shopping street and add fun to shopping activities.

This paper is the research of the design character of the Taiwan lacquer-ware HOURAINURI. The HOURAINURI was created by a Japanese -kou Yamanaka at the Era of Japan in Taiwan. It is the origin of the HOURAINURI for him to use as a motif the exotic mood experienced in Taiwan, and to manufacture lacquer-ware for Japanese. In this research, we with the history of development of the Taiwan lacquer ware to try to find out the meaning on history for HOURAINURI. And through the Manufacture process, motif analysis, we understand the design character of the HOURAINURI like as: (1) The pattern on HOURAINURI is always using the motif about character on the local. (2) Using primary color to expressive of vitality life in Taiwan. (3) Using the simply and powerful carve to expressive of unaffected life in Taiwanese.

Tajikistan is currently facing large waves of changes at all levels, since its independence and the fall of the Former Soviet Union (FSU). From Communist to a democratic country, the change has not always been a smooth one for the former republics, including Tajikistan. From civil war to economic bifurcation, the transitional period for Tajikistan has been a difficult one. Nonetheless, in the wake of instability, Tajikistan has chosen the path towards democratic capitalism. Today Tajikistan is still in the process of such a reform, struggling to achieve stability and progress deemed possible through a democratic reform. This paper focuses on the administrative decentralisation that has been attempted in the course of trying to achieve democracy and healthy capitalism since independence and to the extent that has been realised. As Tajikistan claims its commitment towards a more democratic governing system, this paper explores such effort, focusing particularly on the administrative decentralisation and its implications in Tajik society today.

While issues of administrative decentralisation in Tajikistan are many and complex, it is not without ways of improvements and innovation. In fact, Tajikistan is at a point of new departure as a transitioning country to build on democracy and strong local government: and this period is a window of opportunity to succeed in many things including administrative decentralisation. This paper will try to identify some practical suggestions by focusing on the administrative decentralisation of Tajikistan's government framework. The importance is to identify the issues at hand and ways they can be improved. It will also try to make suggestions using a working example of a decentralised government outside of Tajikistan, referencing its government framework, policy, and process. One caveat to note is that these suggestions are not a panacea. They are referred as working precedents where their essence could provide useful insights to be applied in each respective country in their own mode, including Tajikistan.
