The purpose is to examine the aesthetic impression of hook strokes in block style characters. We have considered the emphatic effect of a character with a stroke that stretches to the right and with a stroke that stretches to the lower right. With the samples that both do and do not emphasize hook strokes, we have collected data about the visual impression by the SD Method. We have employed a measure for evaluation that consists of three factors, which were constituted in our earlier study. We have found the evaluation worth by the Item Response Theory and have also examined it by variance analysis.
We have obtained three results: emphasis to the right improves "Proportional Beauty, "hook strokes give a sympathetic quality to the physical movement of the strokes, and lastly, it can be suggested that "Potency" varies as the strokes become longer.

To clarify the evaluation from care givers and tenants about the introduction of care-volunteer in senior facility, first, we conducted the survey on the opinion of managers of senior facilities. Next, the satisfaction level of facility staffs, care-volunteers and tenants with care-volunteer introduction and how they feel about the difference of care service quality between the facility staff and care-volunteer. As a result, it was found that the managers of senior facilities were thinking the introduction of care-volunteer improves the latitude of care by reduction of the workload of staffs. And, the staffs, care-volunteers and tenants can feel better latitude in the facilities which have higher percentage of care-volunteer. In the same way, we also find they feel more satisfied with the service of care-volunteer and feel no difference about the service quality between staffs and care-volunteers. In this way, introduction of volunteer are welcomed by the care-givers and tenants.

This paper proposes a method for the precise multi-spectral rendering and color reproduction including shade and gloss of an object for a smartphone of Android architecture. First, to render the object, we develop a multi-spectral reflection model. Second, we propose a method the multi-spectral rendering for Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) of the smartphone. Here, we propose compression method of multi-spectral distribution and dynamic range for texture memory of GPU. Third, to improve accuracy of CG color reproduction, we propose calibration method for a display of the smartphone. Then we obtained accuracy of the color difference Δ E=8.7. Finally, to confirm validity of the proposed method, we rendered a realistic image of the object under omni-directional scene on the smartphone. To confirm color reproduction accuracy of display size dependencies, we use paired comparison test. Then there were no significant differences of color reproduction accuracy between display sizes.

This paper, in the process of exploring the headlines on the news site, revealed the correlation between the recall order and gaze order. In addition, showed the relationship between the correlation and the search of that, I proposed an evaluation method of the search. First of all, extracted elements of news site that affect search by rough set analysis. I showed the gaze area and the recall area based on a previous news site that contains the elements. And made it clear that the recall area and the gaze area is not necessarily same. Next, I verified the sample was deleted outside the gaze area and the recall area. Then, revealed the rank correlation between gaze order and recall order be related to the subjective assessment of the search. From these results, I could complexly researched exploratory and controllable on web sites with the perceptual psychology and the cognitive psychology, and I expect that it will be a guid of making web sites to do easily.

This study develops a model to evaluate the comfort in wearing a monocular see-through head-mounted display (HMD) in industrial situations. As a framework of the model, a hierarchical structure composed of the general comfort, the requirements for it, and the design elements of the HMD was assumed. An experiment in which the subjects performed a task wearing different types of the HMD and give the scores to the questions concerning the comfort was carried out. The data was analyzed using the multiple regression analysis and the quantification theory type I, and all of the links between each hierarchy were quantified. From the correlation analysis, it was confirmed that the accuracy of the model was sufficient to estimate the comfort in wearing the HMD. The model enables quantitative evaluation of the comfort in wearing the HMD, as well as suggests potential design ideas for next generation HMDs.

In evaluation process of industrial products, designers evaluate curved surfaces using the specular reflected images on curved surfaces. However, designers have not been able to clarify control parameters' values that generate the intended specular reflected image before its modeling. Accordingly, designers have to search the curved surface generate's intended specular reflected image by adjusting roundness and torsion of the curved surface gradually using their intuition and experience.
Therefore, in this study, we analyzed relations between log-aesthetic curved surfaces generated by 256 types of combinations of control parameters' values and specular reflected images and bewtween seven eye positions and specular reflected images. As a result, we clarified the control parameters' values and eye positions that generated unaesthetic curved surface among log-aesthetic curved surfaces.

As part of the process of designing informational environments, it is very important to have a tool for obtaining an accurate record of the user's activities and psychological experiences. We provided a mobile AP3 system coupled with Experience Sampling Method (ESM) for the collection of user experience data in different media formats. The primary purpose of the study was to understand how the media formats used in different observational situations (e.g. when there were differences in the subject's environment or in the human behaviors surrounding each situation) affected the subjects' collection of data. We also aimed to clarify the full constellation of subject responses and behaviors as they related to the fieldwork conditions. We found that observers selected a media format that suited the object being observed, and that they changed their observation behaviors and recording activities in the fieldwork.
