Recently, design techniques that can be extracted potential needs to be visualized are required. Because people's values are diverse, change is intense. This study aims to understand the value structure of personal mobility and builds a design evaluation and diagnostic system. In this study, we could organize the elements of the design value extracted by the magazine survey and builts a design evaluation index of around 600 items. Next, we considered an evaluation method, and evaluation experiments were carried out for personal mobility under development in practice. In addition, a proposal for next-generation personal mobility was outlined for students of design based on the analysis results of the evaluation experiment, and the usefulness of the evaluation data was verified. As a result, it was found that from a new perspective and evaluation gap between the user groups of different positions, it is utilized in the concept planning and idea deployment in product development. According to the above discussion, we could construct a design evaluation and diagnostic system specialized in personal mobility.

Originally when Taiwan was under Qing Dynasty rule, wooden craft products here were based on Han culture. After going through50 years under Japanese rule, they seemed to survive the subsequent disturbance that they were still produced and used by civilians with merely minor changes. However, under the guidance of ideology by many scholars and experts in the past, the recognition of wooden craft product image has gradually come into being among the general public today. A seemingly Han-styled product image has become the focus of discussion and presentation because of support from post-war political correctness. And during the Japanese colonial period, a lot of Japanese people and foreign experts seemed to be similarly influenced and one after another expressed the same idea. This product image, which results from influence by national consciousness, features quite different and entirely contrary comments and evaluation and thus is worthy of new research and re-chewing rather than only watching from one perspective. This view serves as the key objective of this research which indeed devotedly produces results of similar conclusions.

This research attempted to incorporate equipment in trees for the purpose to get conscious of change of a wind or a season. It was to strengthen the environmental perception with transposing to other sensations, as the wind is perceived not with cutaneous sensation but with vision. In the rooftop gardening space in Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku, 383pieces of environmental perception equipment have been arranged united with various trees. The space was exhibited over seven days, in October 2014.The questionnaire survey which grasps the grade of visitors' environmental perception by the existence of equipment was conducted. As a result, it turned out that the "green" and the "season" were perceived stronger at the time of the experiment all day and night. In addition, the significant result was obtained in the daytime that the "wind" was perceived stronger. Even if not conscious of equipment itself, it has confirmed that it had been effective in perceiving circumference natural environment through the equipment.

The aim of the present study was to separate aesthetic evaluation base on cognitive aesthetics (goodness, liking) from those based on hedonic tones (beauty, pleasantness), and to explore individual differences in those evaluations. We especially focused on the aesthetic dimension of value as individual differences in evaluations based on cognitive aesthetics. 89 undergraduates ware asked to rate aesthetic evaluations of 6 paintings (including 3 painting where beautiful objects ware drawn and 3 paintings where ugly objects ware drawn) using 4 items of evaluations (beautiful, pleasant, good and likable). They were also asked to complete a questionnaire assessing their degree of aesthetic dimension of value. Results demonstrated that the aesthetic dimension of value didn't relate to evaluations based on hedonic tones, but it significantly related to those based on cognitive aesthetics.

The objective of this study is to understand differences in utilization state and evaluation on expression depending on installation environment of municipal pedestrian signs of Nagoya.
Targeting Nagoya Station area, Sakae area, and Nagoya Castle area, 3 researches were conducted; A research on installation environment to categorize pedestrian signs on target areas and to select spots for other 2 researches, an observation research to clarify number of users and passersby related to pedestrian signs, and a survey research to clarify purpose of utilization and evaluation on expression of pedestrian signs.
From the observation survey, installation environments of pedestrian signs used by many people were clarified. From the survey research, it was shown that age group, habitation, and visit purposes vary with the target areas, standardized design by city is preferred, and text size of map is too small. It was also clarified that purpose of utilization vary with not only installation environment but also weekdays and weekends.

In previous recipe sites, these have shown search results in list format. However, in the indeterminate desire, the user's difficult to create an apposite query and narrow their search results. And the user have various context. Because of that, the users often do not satisfy the top results. In this paper, we describe an application system using a virtual three-dimensional space for searching many recipes and finding a recipe that meets user's demand. The sphere objects that represent the recipes of search results place in three-dimensional space. And users can choose the recipe by overlooking and giving recipes a once-over. This system enables users to overlook the recipe results and produces the new experience for searching recipes.

The field of design has widened to dynamic objects such as moving logos. Our aim is to develop a method for designing an extremely creative motion from a designer's vague idea. In this study, we focus on mimetic (reality-symbolic) words. These words can be understood as potential representations of vague images and ideas that are difficult to describe verbally. People often incidentally coin new mimetic words (inventive mimetic words) that extend from existing mimetic words. We believe that creative motions can be designed based on an inventive mimetic word. We develop a method and a tool for designing a new motion from an inventive mimetic word. First, an inventive mimetic word is decomposed into stems. Second, known mimetic words that are similar to each stem are searched. Third, motions related to the known mimetic words are extracted from the database that was developed in our previous study.

Based on surveys on successful uses of gamification in diverse fields, the authors derived a hypothesis that use of three game elements of "behavior conversion", "behavior empathy" and "behavior approval" for expressing the acts of users in essential for effective use of gamification in ecological indicator of home electric appliances. In this study, the derives hypothesis was verified by examining continuous use of refrigerator, which is a household appliance that consumes a large amount of energy. On the other hand, the investigation suggested that for household and other appliances that are used over a long period of time, the game elements should be modified so as to match the users and to continue attracting the users to the ecological indicator. The use of gamification for the ecological indicator was shown to be effective not in suppressing or preventing users from performing a necessary act but in promoting their energy-saving consciousness.

Music directly influences human feelings and the sense of the passage of time. This study measured the ratio of virtual time to real time that resulted from listening to K.265/K.300e, Mozart, in which the basic music was varied using 12 different modes. The results showed that quiet and slow music makes time feel shorter, and dynamic and up-tempo music makes time feel longer than real time. Additionally, each type of music can potentially paint a mental color image. Therefore, additional experiments were conducted to examine whether the harmonic sound of C-major, minor, sus4, and diminish could evoke images of color. The results were quite similar to the observations in special-ability individuals who can create a mental color image using sounds. Harmonic sound can evoke color, and the color can evoke the related functional images suggested by the environmental design. Harmonic sound could be a substitute to verbal announcement.

The purpose of the present study was to compare experts' vs non-experts' viewpoints on the label information and attitudes toward risks of OTC drugs. An eye-tracking experiment and a questionnaire survey were performed. In the eye-tracking experiment, the viewing durations for 12 items of labeling information were analyzed. The results from the eye-tracking experiment showed that experts viewed "ingredients", "warning", and "purpose" longer than non-experts. In addition, the questionnaire survey indicated that experts evaluated risks of OTC drugs more highly than non-experts. Because the risks of OTC drugs were evaluated highly by experts, labels of OTC drugs with emphasis of risks may assist better communication between experts and non-experts.
