Presence of two growth types was suggested among the photo-insensitive soybean varieties. (1) Stable determinate growth type : Number of nodes on the main stem was almost same regardless of temperature and daylength. (2) Unstable or temperature dependent determinate growth type : The number of nodes was slightly more under long-day than under short-day, and higher temperatures had more nodes than the lower temperatures. Under both photoperiods, days from emergence to first flower anthesis were somewhat longer in the latter than in the former.
