  • アントラキノン添加ソーダパルプ化仮道管細胞膜における脱リグニン効果

    繊維を横方向に1μmの厚さにカットし, 紫外線吸光度を測定して, アントラキノン (AQ) 添加, 又は無添加時の松材のソーダパルプ化における脱リグニンの相違を研究した。AQを添加した場合, 二次膜と中間層共に脱リグニン度が増加した。これは春材, 秋材に共通して言えることである。いかなる脱リグニンレベルにおいても, リグニン除去率は二次膜, 中間層共に同一であった。Ross図表が示すように, AQによる脱リグニンの促進により, 全リグニンレベルにおいて高収率パルプが得られた。紫外線吸光度は, Halseリグニンと高い相関 (99%) を示した。
    1970年代初期にはBachとFiehnにより, また近年ではHoltonによってAQとその誘導体の多くは, ソーダパルプ化, クラフトパルプ化共に脱リグニン促進効果のあることが見出された。この脱リグニン促進効果によって, 全リグニンレベルにおいて高収率パルプが得られる。脱リグニンの促進と還元性末端基の酸化による炭水化物の安定化により, 収率が向上する。AQ添加により黒液の酸化還元電位が低下する。これは脱リグニン促進の間接的証明となる。もし1個の β-0-4結合を持つ分子を, アントラキノンモノスルホン酸塩で処理したならば, フェノールユニットの側鎖において, CαとCβの間で開裂が起こるであろう。この開裂は, 同一リグニン度で比較すると, ソーダパルプ化の場合には起こらなかった。本研究の目的は, 紫外線ミクロ分光光度法を用いて, AQ添加又は無添加時のソーダパルプ化におけるPinus silvestrisの仮道管細胞膜の脱リグニンを検討することにある。この方法を用いて繊維横断面を分析することにより, 二次膜と中間層について個々に脱リグニン度を測定出来る。

    As shown in the conclusion of OECD review of environmental policies of Japan, Japan has suffered from the most serious pollution in the world but as a whole there is noticeable abatement of pollution.
    And Japanese pulp and paper industry can be proud of its success in effacing pollution industry image. However, with respect to the control of water pollution and the like, there remains much to be solved yet. Furthermore I shall mention the perspectives of the problems and the environmental technology forecast conducted by the Technology Forecasting Group.

    In the process for the combustion of a blow gas containing malodorous sulfur compounds from a digester, which is blown intermittently and has wide flowrate variations, the gas holder is often used to equalize the treatment efficiency. So far closed tank of bellows type or tank equipped diaphragm inside has been used. The present disclosure relates to a new type gas holder which is equipped the fixed bed shells inside and which has the releasing system to the air. This holder is easy to handle and to operate.
    Maintenance is not necessary and the initial cost is not expensive.

    Honshu Paper Co., Ltd. has now six paper mills, one chemical plant and one plastic film Plant. Among them, Kushiro mill, started in 1959 and located in Hokkaido, is the largest and newest paper mill.
    Almost all of the products and raw materials are transported from/to Kushiro port. Kushiro mill was built in Hokkaido where rich raw materials for pulp are available, due to new technological developments in producing linerboard from hardwood.
    Kushiro mill has four paper machines (two for linerboard 1, 169 t/ d, two for printing paper 363 t/d), five UKP lines and one line each for BKP, TMP, CGP, DIP and waste paper pulping.
    The waste water (200, 000 m3/d) is treated through an activated sludge system and four clarifiers.
    The mill is situated in an area of around 2, 000, 000 m2, and the number of employees is about 650.

    The effects of ozone treatment were compared with those of chlorite, sulfite and alkali treatments concerning the properties of treated mechanical pulp, especially breaking length.
    The obtained results are summarized as follows :
    1) The increase of breaking length is in the following order : ozone =chlorite > sulfite >alkali treatment at a given yield.
    2) The ozone treated pulp fiber is not so flexible and hydrophilic as those from the other treatments.
    3) The increase of breaking length in ozone treatment is caused not by flexible or hydrophilic properties of treated pulp, but by the decrease of freeness and modification of fiber surface.

    Graft copolymerization of acrylamide (AM) onto polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibers was carried out by the ceric ion method, and the properties of these fibers and the papers made from grafted PVA fibers were examined.
    The following results were obtained.
    The water retention value of grafted PVA fibers increased with the increase of grafting degree, while the tensile strength and the freeness decreased. The sheet strength was affected by the degree of grafting and the content of PVA fibers. When basis weight kept constant, the breaking length, the burst factor and the tear factor of heat-treated showed maximum value at the degree of grafting 5060 %. When the numbers of PVA fibers were constant, the breaking length and elongation showed constant value above 70 % of degree of grafting.

    Bleaching of Mitsumata (Edyeworthra papyri fera Seib. et Zucc.) enzymatic pulp (EP) produced by the enzyme preparation from Corticiuin rolfsii was investigated using sodium hypochlorite, oxygen-alkali and sodium hypochlorite sequence, sodium hydrosulfite and ozone.
    Comparison was made between the bleaching behaviors of EP and those of the corresponding alkaline pulp (AP).
    Paper strength properties of the unbleached EP were inferior to those of the unbleached AP, but were improved with the increase of brightness by sodium hypochlorite bleaching to be equal or sometimes superior to those of the bleached AP. It was found that the brightness of EP was rather slowly increased by bleaching in comparison with the increase rate of AP.
    To reach the brightness of 70% or more, it was unsatisfactory to bleach with single sodium hypochlorite or sodium hyposulfite methods. Ozone bleaching was effective in the improvement of the brightness but largely decreased the paper strength.
    The effect of bleaching on the smoothness of EP handsheet was also discussed. From the above discussion, it was concluded that it was best for EP to bleach with sodium hypochlorite.
