    We introduce three cases of paper use in Automobile interior components according to the history of our company.

    Finally, about PAPIA, new unique composite material made from waste paper and plastics that has been successfully commercialized.

    The nonwoven fabrics industry in Japan has grown steadily for recent 10 years.
    Especially the growth for spunbonded nonwovens has been noticed and then the nonwoven with specialized high functions is desirable for end-users in order to respond to needs in new developing markets, for example, Lint-free wiper in non-contaminated rooms and Super absorbent nonwoven for sanitary napkins.
    In this respect we can introduce Cellulosic-Spundonded Nonwovens in Japan.

    The Jujo's Fushiki Mill is located in Takaoka-City, Toyama prefecture of Main-island in Japan. Pulp and paper production began in 1919. Our mill produces newsprint, rotogravure, printing and publishing papers, asbestos paper and other specialty paperboard.
    Our major plants are composed of six paper machines which use mainly furnishes from Sulfite, RGP and DIP mill. The mill has the capacity to produce 320 tons paper and board per day.

    たばこ材料用紙の高通気度化による低タール・低ガスたばこの開発の基礎資料を得るため, 通気度の異なる5水準の電気開孔巻紙と6水準の機械開孔チップペーパーの組み合わせ, および3水準の多孔性フィルタープラグ巻取紙と5水準の機械開孔チップペーパーの組み合わせの, 2シリーズの開孔たばこを作製し, これら各材料用紙の通気度とこれらを適用した開孔たばこの空気流入割合および通気抵抗との関係を検討した。
    結果は次のとおりである。
    1) フィルター開孔部の通気性を表わすチップペーパーと巻取紙との積層通気度は, チップペーパーの通気度が高くなるに従って増加し, その増加割合は組み合わされた巻取紙の通気度が高いほど大きかった。
    2) フィルターからの空気流入割合 Vf は, 巻取紙やチップペーパーの通気度が高くなるに従って増加した。しかし, 併用された巻紙の通気度が高くなると, Vf, およびチップペーパー通気度の増加による Vfへの効果は小さくなった。
    3) 巻紙からの空気流入割合 Vp は, 巻紙通気度が高くなるに従って増加した。しかし, 併用されたチップペーパーや巻取紙の通気度が高いほどVpは小さくなった。
    4) 各材料用紙の通気度が高いほど Vf や Vp が増加するため, たばこの通気抵抗は減少した。
    5) 巻紙とフィルターからの空気流入割合 Vpf と通気抵抗との関係を検討した。 Vpf の増加にはフィルター開孔部の通気性すなわち巻取紙とチップペーパーの積層通気度より巻紙通気度の増加が効果的であり, 通気抵抗の減少には巻紙より積層通気度の増加が効果的であった。

    A rate of effective alkali consumption by wood components has been studied in the bulk delignification phase and the final phase of kraft cooking. Experimentally, kraft cooking was carried out on matchstick-like wood chips. Black liquor was titrated potentiometrically with HCl.
    It was found that the rate of effective alkali consumption was expressed as
    -d [OH-] e/dt=1/α·t-1
    where [OH-] e was effective alkali concentration at cooking time t, 1/α was a constant. The apparent activation energy of effective alkali consumption for kraft cooking carried out on wood with 14.0 and 15.8% effective alkali was 41.3 and 35.8 kcal·mol-1 respectively. However, effective alkali was consumed by degradative products from both lignin and carbohydrates in the bulk delignification phase and the final phase, the concentration of residual effective alkali was closely correlated to the extent of delignification. A known kinetic equation for delignification is not applicable to conditions of time-varying liquor concentration. Consequently, the above rate equation for effective alkali consumption is useful to describe the kraft pulping process quantita-tively together with a kinetic equation of delignification.

    Features of physical properties of enzymatic pulp paper from two kinds of kozo (paper mulberry) were investigated by bringing out the contrast between characteristics of the enzymatic pulp paper and corresponding properties of chemical pulp paper. The enzymatic pulps were prepared mainly by the aid of endo-pectate lyase secreted by Erwinia carotovora GIR 726, starting from kozo harvested in Kochi and Tochigi Prefectures. Paper was made according to Japanese traditional arts of paper-making methods of “Tosa Washi (Japanese hand-made paper produced in Kochi Prefecture)” and “Hon Mino Gami (Japanese hand-made paper manufactured in Gifu Prefecture)”. It was found that the enzymatic pulp paper had bulkier and also higher opacity than the corresponding soda-ash pulp paper. In the relationship between pressure load and smoothness, the flattening property of the enzymatic pulp paper was more greatly improved than that of the chemical pulp paper. These findings showed that the enzymatic pulp paper had better printability. Under the same conditions, pulping rate was widely different between kôzo from Kochi Prefecture and one from Tochigi Prefecture, i. e., the latter was over-macerated. Physical properties including strengthes of the enzymatic pulp paper from kôzo cultivated in Kochi Prefecture were found to be comparable to those of the corresponding chemical pulp paper.
