ジャーナル フリーA binder-pigment latex with a unique core-shell structure has dual functions of plastic pigment as well as binder. The cost of coating compositions containing the binder-pigment latex is less than that of the plastic pigment. Because, the amount of a conventional latex is reduced due to the dual functions.
The coatings containing the binder-pigment latex showed high gloss, brightness, opacity and ink receptivity. Furthermore, the binder-pigment latex improved not only the glueability and blister pack property of the coated boards in the practical applications but also missing dots in the gravure printing.
The cost of coatings was reduced by the optimization of the inorganic pigment composition and the coating amount.抄録全体を表示PDF形式でダウンロード (2868K) -

ジャーナル フリーCompletely new fields of wood utilization have been opened by the facts that both chemically -modified and non-modified wood can be dissolved in several organic solvents. By applying these phenomena, the wood based filaments have been formed by the spinning of wood-phenol solution with hexamethylenetetramine. ジャーナル フリーThe news papers had been printed by letter press for many years. However, the offset printing has been adopted in news paper print since early 1960, and most of the news papers are printed by offset printing in these days.
The study for flexographic printing of news papers has started since latter part of 1970, and the flexographic printing is rapidly spread among the news paper industry, mainly in USA. This means the news paper industry is also diversified in printing method. The news paper printing by flexography is just starting, and there remain some problems to be overcome. The remarkable features of flexographic printing is establishing the market to substantial extent.

ジャーナル フリーIt is meaningful to analyze the chemical distribution in coated layer to produce high quality coated paper, and there is clear relationship between chemical distribution in coated layer and paper quality such as gloss and intensity of the coated surface.
Although many methods had been developed to analyze the chemical distribution in the coated layer, it is difficult to analyze the top surface of the coated layer, which affected on printability, by accepted methods.
ESCA (XPS) can analyze chemical composition of top 50-100 angstroms of coated surface, and depth profile of chemical components in the coated layer can be provided in combination with scraping method. Natural binder (starch) and synthetic binder (SB-latex) were found to be separately by the method of labeled latex or spectrum treatment of photoelectron peak of carbon. Top surface profile of chemical distribution of the coated layer can also be provided with limitation on sample area of ESCA.
Measurements of chemical distribution of the coated paper surface became possible with ESCA analysis, and differences of chemical distribution on surface and z-direction of coated layer in different coating condition can be detected clearly.抄録全体を表示PDF形式でダウンロード (2099K) -
